The Spark…
I’ve always loved the “getaway”, the “get lost in”, and the “imagine what that life would be like” moments in books, plays, and movies. So I’ve always had stacks of them about – something which has dismayed my realtor!
While I’ve enjoyed a multifaceted career in theatre and film, it wasn’t until I worked on some Emmy award winning documentaries by History Making Productions, and voiced several characters for the award winning animated interactive learning experience series MissionUS, that the embers of interest and delight for sharing stories through the intimate vehicle of voiceover became a spark.
The more I learned about the craft, the more I loved it… and so the spark became a flame.
The Flame…
Favorite genres are historical fiction, mystery, science fiction and fantasy with a bit of self help in the mix. These genres echo my theatrical career. I have played Witches, Villains, Fairies and Ingenue roles in numerous Shakespearean, and historically based, plays. I spent 15 years as an historical interpreter: researching, creating and performing one woman programs based on famous American Women, such as Betsy Ross, and primarily First Lady Dolley Madison for numerous notable sites throughout the eastern US.
Born in Canada I now live in Philadelphia with my loving and talented husband and 2 cats. I enjoy hiking, skiing, kayaking, running, horseback riding, crafts, and hanging out with my fellow, history geek, friends. And I think my realtor will be relieved to see my conversion to audiobooks.
